Kangaroot keeps growing & hires Joke Schevernels as Marketing Manager
Kangaroot, specialist in architecture, implementation and support of Linux and open source solutions, has recruited Joke Schevernels as marketing manager. Thanks to the focus on innovation, the company has seen a sharp increase in turnover as well as the number of employees and customers in recent years. With an eye to the future and the expansion to the Netherlands, Kangaroot is expanding the previously part-time marketing function. Joke will further put the company on the map as an important and indispensable player in the open source market.
Joke Schevernels previously worked in the Panda Security marketing team. Her last role at this company was that of marketing manager for the private Benelux market. As a marketing manager at Kangaroot, she is responsible for all marketing and communication activities, event management, social media and channel marketing.
Since its foundation, sixteen years ago, Kangaroot has been the specialist in Belgium when it comes to open source solutions. In the 2013-2014 financial year, the turnover amounted to 3.4 million euros. The following year, Kangaroot reported an increase of about thirty percent and sales amounted to 4.4 million euros. The same turnover is expected for the 2015-2016 financial year, which has just ended. With these positive figures, the company is now ready to explore the Dutch market more deeply and to position itself even more as a specialist in open source consultancy throughout the Benelux.
“Kangaroot is already very strong in the market as a brand. So it is rather a matter of putting the finishing touches on it. Good communication with our partners is essential, and internal communication is also very important to me. With my experience in the Benelux market, I hope to position Kangaroot even more in the Dutch market in the near future. Knowing that there is a very good team of knowledge and skills in Berchem, I throw myself full of energy and pleasure in this new challenge.”
Peter Dens, Managing Director Kangaroot:
We are very pleased to welcome Joke to our team. Her knowledge and experience, both in communication and within the IT sector, are exactly what we need to support our growth. Not only is the turnover increasing, the company is also growing in number of customers and employees. We now employ 22 employees and we have expanded our customer portfolio with a number of strong names with, among others, Kuwait Petroleum N.V. and Infrabel.
