The blind spot of traditional security: Linux & Open Source
Although most modern production & cloud environments run on Linux & open source, many security solutions are still primarily designed with Windows in mind — creating critical blind spots.
What does that mean for your organisation? In this session, we’ll show how to move beyond basic detection toward full operational security: from monitoring & threat detection to hardening, container & Kubernetes security, compliance and incident response readiness.

Hands‑on performance tuning for PostgreSQL databases
PostgreSQL exposes tens of configuration parameters. Tuning them correctly is notoriously difficult due to complex interactions and workload‑specific behavior. Traditional approaches—manual tuning or generic rule‑based tools—often fall short.
In this practical workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of server parameter tuning and get hands-on experience to achieve meaningful performance improvements. We’ll explore which parameters matter most with an introduction to DBtune Community Edition, an AI‑powered agentic tuning approach that blends heuristic rules with modern AI and ML techniques to deliver smarter, workload‑aware optimization.
Prerequisites: Bring your own laptop with a command‑line shell (e.g., PowerShell). If you are using a company laptop, please whitelist app.dbtune.com.

How can OpenDesk enable your organisation to build a fully open, sovereign digital workplace?
Many organisations still rely on proprietary collaboration platforms, which means limited control over data, privacy concerns & vendor lock-in. What if there was a better way?
In this session, we’ll show how OpenDesk lets you build a fully open, self-hosted digital workplace where collaboration, document management and communication are completely under your control!

Why (Local) Open Source AI Matters
We call this the AI era. We talk about breakthroughs, disruption & exponential innovation. But what is really happening today is less spectacular and at the same time more fundamental.
A stress test for our architectures. For our data management. For our governance. And above all: for our organisational structures.

The European alternative: why your foundation defines your sovereignty
Beyond technology trends like cloud-native scale, we are witnessing a fundamental shift in our digital reality. This is a stress test for our governance & our ability to maintain an independent European tech landscape. While "Sovereignty" has become a popular marketing buzzword, true independence cannot be bought as a feature; it must be built into the foundation.
In this keynote, Emiel Brok explains why SUSE, as Europe’s largest independent open-source player, is the natural partner for the Belgian market. We provide a sovereign choice across the entire infrastructure lifecycle—from secure operating systems to cloud-native management layers. This integrated portfolio allows organizations to leverage global innovation while keeping the "keys to the factory" firmly in European hands.
Building the Belgian Ecosystem: The BOSBA Initiative
A sovereign technology stack requires a sovereign business ecosystem. To strengthen the local landscape, SUSE proposes the creation of the Belgium Open Source Business Alliance (BOSBA) to provide a unified voice for open-source business in Belgium.
Marco Manganiello, Sales Director Benelux at SUSE, is ready to pick up the baton and serve as a founding board member to drive this initiative forward. During this session, Emiel Brok will share "lessons learned" from the DOSBA (Dutch Open Source Business Alliance) to help accelerate Belgium’s journey.
Our Goal: To establish BOSBA as Belgium's official representative in APELL (the European Association of Next Generation IT Providers), ensuring Belgian innovation has a seat at the highest tables of European digital policy. It is time to build on a foundation that is open, independent, and truly our own.

The exit strategy: Modernizing beyond the proprietary virtualization trap
Infrastructure stability and predictable licensing were once the invisible bedrock of the data center. But the landscape has shifted. Following the Broadcom acquisition of VMware, what was once a global standard has transformed into a catalyst for uncertainty, skyrocketing costs, and forced transitions. For many organisations, the foundation they relied on for decades has suddenly become their biggest strategic risk.
The need for a viable, enterprise-grade alternative is no longer a "nice-to-have", it is a strategic necessity. What if the answer to the virtualization crisis wasn’t just finding a new vendor, but embracing a superior European architecture? In this technical deep-dive, we demonstrate why SUSE Virtualization stands as the primary European powerhouse for those ready to leave the proprietary trap behind.
We will showcase how SUSE Virtualization allows you to break free from legacy constraints by unifying virtual machines and containers under a single, open-source control plane. This isn't a "rip and replace" compromise; it is a modernization strategy that lets you run your mission-critical VMs on a resilient, sovereign foundation while simultaneously preparing for a cloud-native future. This is your opportunity to turn a forced migration into a strategic evolution, ensuring your infrastructure remains open, independent, and firmly in European hands.

Securing the Open Source Supply Chain
Every organisation relies on open source software in its supply chain. It’s the base on which modern technology is built. However, the prevalence of security vulnerabilities or hidden malware in open source software presents a massive and rapidly growing issue, especially in the AI era.
This breakout session will be a mix of strategy and tech, in which we will focus on:- Why "right-sided" solutions fail to solve the supply chain trust and integrity issues;
- What it means to start left and the foundational requirements for this approach.
- How to start left, with Chainguard.

Red Hat AI Factory with NVIDIA
Red Hat and NVIDIA have joined forces to make rack-scale AI a reality for the enterprise. From "Day 0" support for the NVIDIA Vera-Rubin platform to optimized performance on OpenShift, this partnership is designed to take you from AI experimentation to full-scale production.
Join us to see the "joint value proposition" in action and discover why this collaboration is a massive win for the open-source ecosystem.
